The role encompasses researching into and developing novel technologies for all wind turbine blade materials and processing techniques, specifically composite materials, adhesives and coatings.


  • Ability to work under guidance but be a self-starter on both technical and
  • Administration aspects of the role.
  • Ability to create novel concepts and solutions for technical problems.
  • Personable and confident dealing with both external customers and internal personnel within the business.
  • Ability to support projects to ensure on-time delivery for both public and private funders
  • Manufacture of composites, manufacture of adhesive bonded test specimens
  • Use FTIR, 3D optical microscope, ultrasonic thickness and other materials test and analysis equipment


  • Knowledge and practical experience of composite materials and processing are highly desired, particularly around glass and carbon fibre epoxy composites, sandwich structures and out-of-autoclave processing methods.
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies and NDT, data processing and modelling would be beneficial.
  • You will be a team player with a strong and flexible work ethic, who consistently works to high standards.
  • You will have thorough understanding of materials, and their manufacturing and testing principles
